According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) data, there are about 500 species of Amur tigers left in Russia. Ilya Lagutenko is a patron for the Russian-British Fund protecting Amur tigers and Far Eastern leopards, “Amur', and also a participant, together with Harrison Ford, of the International Tiger Coalition that was founded in Washington with support from the World Bank. Ilya continues to stand up for his striped charges and he recently took part in the shootings of a WWF video for the Tiger protection.š
Ilya impersonates a tiger in a very trustworthy way – watchful, driven to despair, dangerous and beautiful. Ilya, whose movements on a stage often impress spectators, easily communicated an expressive behavior of the graceful animal. He also performed an effective stunt himself – a jump to the camera.š
The video by Carl Le Blond will take part in the main competition program of the “Cannes Lions – 2010' festival. WWF believes this work may become an important milestone in social eco-advertisement in Russia. Soon the video will appear on Russian TV channels, and you may already watch it on the Internet.
