30.03.10: Mumiy Troll got the recognition of an American festival and now prepares to take part in a Mexican one.
Mumiy Troll has performed on the legendary American festival, South by Southwest (SXSW). It was the first time Russia was represented on this grand annual event held in Texas. Both music critics and journalists related to the festival noted the freshness on the Russian band's sound and called Mumiy Troll's performance a “high start' and the “raisin' of the festival, and Ilya Lagutenko “incredibly lively and inspiring'. “There he (Lagutenko)šwas on stage, bounding about like a madman as the group churned out rollicking New Wave grooves behind him, bringing to mind a looser, more joyful version of early Public Image, Ltd. crossed with Devo.', wrote the Chicage Sun-Times about Mumiy Troll's performance.
On the 1st of April, Mumiy Troll will take part in a Mexican festival held in the city of Zacatecas. Last year, the band had performed in Mexico for the first time, and the Mexican spectators accepted the Russians with delight, both on the concert in Teatro de la Ciudad and on the famous festival of arts of Servantino in Guanajuato.
