19.08.08: Another Mumiy Troll's song became a video clip.
The song
«Bandi» (Bands) from AMBA album became a soundtrack for a thriller
film «S.S.D.» by Vadim Shmelev (Kod Apokalipsisa, Obratni Otschet).
During one of the shooting days a video clip was shot in the film stills. The
shootings took part in young pioneers' camp «Lesnaya polyana»
(Solnechnogorsky district of Moscow region). The film is made after thrilling
stories that kids tell each other in camps after dark and takes us to recent
Soviet past. According to the director's idea, Mumiy Troll performs in an
assembly hall of the camp, before young pioneers dressed in summer full dress
uniform – white top side, black bottom side, shirts and shorts.
«When
I heard the song for the first time, I understood that it's written just
according to our script,» says Vadim Shmelev. «There are striking,
literally line-by-line coincidences! The „Bandi“ has general mood
that I needed for the film finale: the words in the song are not very merry, but,
still, it carries optimistic positive load!»
«According
to Vadim's claims, the story in the song – is a script of S.S.D. movie,»
says Ilya Lagutenko. «And if our song becomes the leitmotif of the
picture, why doesn't this leitmotif work vice versa. Then the film becomes a video-track
for Bandi song».
The
thriller «S.S.D» (one of the possible interpretations of the abbreviation is
«Death to Soviet Children») will be released on the 4th of September.
