05.07.08: Mumiy Troll's performance at Playboy magazine party was interrupted.
An
unexpected incident interrupted Mumiy Troll's performance on a party dedicated
to the 10th anniversary of Playboy magazine, which took place in Moscow on the 3rd of
July. After the song «Bandi» (Bands) (that became a soundtrack to a horror film
«S.S.D.», coming soon), the next song, «Medveditsa» (She-Bear), was dedicated
to Artemy Troitsky, the founding editor of Russian Playboy edition. The group
stroke up its hit with a double enthusiasm and increased decibels. At this
moment the club's security was already in the hall, negotiating with the
concert organizers and trying to stop the concert, as they believed the volume
was inappropriate for this time of the day, although it's was just a little
past 11 p.m., and the party took place in a night club. After failing to get
the result in negotiations with organizers, the security rushed to the desk of
Mumiy Troll's audio producer and beat him, having apparently decided he was
responsible for the continuing activity. Then they totally disconnected the
electricity for the stage during another mass singing of Medveditsa's refrain,
leaving the audience in perplexity.
The Mumiy
Troll's audio producer was sent to a hospital. The musicians of Mumiy Troll,
who still remember being put into black lists of rock-groups, took the
situation with humour, but they are very much worried about their comrade.
According to some information, Playboy's editor and a sponsors' representative
were beaten as well.
The
founding editor of Russian Playboy, Artemy Troitsky, named the club's security
initiative to stop the part at its culminating moment as «interrupted coitus».
Mumiy Troll expressed its attitude to the incident with a phrase that already
became a wide-spread one: «What kind of Bermudas – so are the triangles».
