09.06.08:  Ilya Lagutenko went to Washington to protect tigers.

Ilya Lagutenko went to Washington to take part in the announcement of the World Bank initiative regarding the creation of the International Tiger Coalition. The ITC united specialists on tiger conservation, vets and world stars. Each country selected its representatives: Harrison Ford from America, Yao Ming – basketball player and one of the tallest persons of China, Ilya Lagutenko from Russia.

During several years Ilya have been a patron of Amur fund, which aims to conserve the population of Ussuri (also known as Amur) tigers that live in the Martime Territory of Russia. The image of Ussuri tiger is used in the coat of arms of Vladivostok city – where, as it's well known, Mumiy Troll was founded.

«Concrete results emerge only from interconnected work of state and devotees from organizations like Amur fund,» – says Ilya Lagutenko. «The tigers' conservation actions, which are carried out by zoological gardens and scientific organizations from all over the world, are quite expensive. That is why it's in everyone's interests to create a single institution to exchange information and experience and, thus, establish an international coalition on tigers' conservation.»

Last year we have released the album entitled «Amba“, which means tiger in the language of Udege hunters,» – continues Ilya. «One of the major directions of the coalition's work is the popularization of the information of the problem's importance – on every level and in every country. And I'm very glad that not only my experience of social work in the fund is appreciated, but also musical achievements of Mumiy Troll.»

The release of Amba album on foreign market will be considered in Washington. But the group has already decided to transfer all income from the sales to the fund of the International Coalition for Tiger Conservation – for saving these beautiful and brave animals.
